Description
These Baked Churro Bites are the oven-baked twist on a fairground favorite—golden, fluffy, and cinnamon-sugar coated, without the fryer mess. A quick and irresistible crowd-pleaser for every sweet tooth moment.
Ingredients
For the dough:
1 1/4 cups water
5 tbsp cold unsalted butter
2 packed tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
Cooking spray
To finish:
2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)
Cinnamon sugar mix:
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
In a saucepan, combine water, butter, brown sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and add all the flour at once. Stir continuously for 2–3 minutes until dough forms a smooth ball.
Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Add vanilla, then beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
Bake for 20–25 minutes until puffed and golden. For extra crispiness, bake 3–4 minutes more.
While warm, brush each bite with melted butter and toss in cinnamon sugar. Serve immediately.
Notes
No piping bag needed! Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to portion dough.
These bites are best fresh. If storing, reheat before re-coating in cinnamon sugar.
Freeze uncoated bites and finish with butter and sugar after warming.
